Harlem Globe Trotters - 2005

Childhood Cancer Careline for sponsoring the basketball give away at the Harlem Globetrotters night in Tacoma.
Hi everyone, Roger Roatch of Podium Racing here again.
We had a great time at the Harlem Globetrotters game at the Tacoma Dome Feb. 22nd. Podium Racing once again was blessed to 'Meet and Treat' 16 friends and family of Mary Bridge Children's Hospital patients to a night out of fun and games. I was privileged to meet Kimmi, Tatiyania, Ricky, Diamond, and all their friends and family. We met outside on one of our absolutely beautify winter days we had as the sun was shining brightly. Actually for more than one reason as I got to see all those smiling faces too. Then we went inside to enjoy a night of entertainment. I still remember how much bigger than life the Globetrotters were when I was a kid, and us parents all got the chance to see the same amazed grins on our kid's faces too. The rule of the night was "You Must Have Fun", and boy did they obey.
And to top the night off we were able to present each child with an official Globetrotters basketball so they could get autographs until their hearts were content. A very special thanks goes to Childhood Cancer Careline for sponsoring the basketball give away. Hopefully the kids will take some more pictures of their signed balls for the Christmas party this year. I trust none of the kids got trampled as there wasn't much organization or respect for the kids and it was a free-for-all trying to get autographs with literally thousands of people doing the same. I also want to thank Heather Omlid for again taking the time to organizing the kids and getting them there as scheduled. And finally two of my sons Bryce and Blayne for continually reminding me not to be too serious.
The highlight of the night was getting to watch Diamond get selected to go out on the floor and participate in a basket making contest. She looked great and represented Mary Bridge Kids well. Here are a couple of pictures to enjoy.
Thanks so much for allowing Podium Racing into your lives and to participate in just a bit of fun.
